Singapore Tech Park Adopts CATHAYLIFT Portable Scissor Lift to Enhance Aerial Maintenance Efficiency
In an effort to improve workplace safety and operational efficiency, a prominent technology park in Jurong, Singapore has recently integrated the CATHAYLIFT Portable Self-Propelled Scissor Lift into its facility maintenance fleet. The procurement marks the first collaboration between the Singaporean management team and Chinese manufacturer CATHAYLIFT, and the results have already exceeded expectations.
Mr. Lin, the park's operations manager, explained the challenges they previously faced: "Much of our routine maintenance work-like light replacement, fire safety inspections, and HVAC access-was done using ladders or manual platforms. These methods were both time-consuming and unsafe in confined spaces like narrow corridors and server areas."
After exploring several options on the market, the team selected the CATHAYLIFT model due to its compact design, self-propelled capabilities, and strong safety record. "What impressed us most was the unit's ability to turn and navigate easily in tight indoor spaces. Its small turning radius, smooth electric drive, and precision lift control make it a perfect fit for our multi-level facility," Mr. Lin shared.
One of the key differentiators was the lift's non-marking tires and low-noise electric motor, which allowed for quiet operation even during business hours. The team also appreciated the built-in pothole protection system, which automatically prevents elevation if surface conditions are unstable-a critical feature in high-tech environments with sensitive flooring and equipment.
To further customize the lift for local use, CATHAYLIFT engineers tailored the battery system to meet Singapore's climate and usage patterns, ensuring long runtimes with minimal downtime. The unit also includes an emergency descent lock, a manual brake release, and speed control valves, enabling versatile use across different departments, from facility services to IT infrastructure support.
According to feedback from maintenance staff, task completion times have been reduced by over 40%, while safety risks have decreased significantly. "We used to avoid certain high areas due to accessibility issues," one technician noted. "Now, we can get the job done faster, safer, and with less manpower."
Encouraged by the lift's performance, the tech park is already planning to expand its partnership with CATHAYLIFT.
